Managed by Shangri-La, exceptional service is the focus at this signature Mauritius resort.
The much-loved Shangri-La Le Touessrok Mauritius features a design that pays homage to the island’s multicultural influences, which is complemented by Shangri-La’s renowned Asian-inspired service. A real highlight of the resort is the two island retreats which are accessible within minutes by boat. The star of the show is Ilot Mangénie which is exclusive to guests of the resort; you can escape to the island to enjoy the attentive on-island butler service and the cool beach club atmosphere. The other island is the famous Ile aux Cerfs, home to the renowned Bernhard Langer-designed 18-hole championship golf course.
Why we love Shangri-La Le Touessrok Mauritius
-
This iconic Mauritius resort has won a hatful of richly deserved awards in its 45-year history, including world’s best hotel
-
It comes with its own private island retreat just a short boat ride away where there’s even more of a castaway-luxe feeling
-
Shangri-La is renowned for its warm, thoughtful and discreet hospitality, and Le Touessrok is a wonderful example of this
-
The setting may be supremely romantic, but families will feel just as welcomed as honeymooners and couples
Rooms
The 192 rooms and suites have been beautifully designed in a light and modern ‘rustic-chic’ style and feature locally sourced furniture. Sea views can be enjoyed from all the accommodation choices which include the spacious Junior Suites. To step from your terrace to the sand, opt for one of the Beach Access Junior Suites. You can also choose one of the beautiful Frangipani Island One Bedroom Suites that are located on an exclusive islet connected to the mainland by a bridge. For the ultimate getaway, opt for the Shangri-La Three Bedroom Beach Villa which overlooks a quiet beach and the Indian Ocean.
We particularly love the secluded feel of the Frangipani Wing Junior Suites; you’ll have the use of the exclusive adults-only and Quiet pool as well as in-room check-in service.
Facilities
When it comes to dining, there are five restaurants serving dishes from around the world, several featuring open kitchens or stations where you can watch master chefs at work. All the restaurants cater for families with a dedicated kids menu centered around dishes you know they will love.
Le Bazar
The bistro-style main restaurant is the venue both for breakfast and for dinner with a global flavour. There are also a number of open kitchens where you can watch the chefs create mouthwatering creations.
Kushi
The resort’s sophisticated Japanese restaurant, open for dinner, offers authentic dishes, from sushi prepared by a master to a traditional Omakase set menu that changes every day.
Safran
Dine on Indian and Mauritian dishes from the à la carte or gourmet set menu prepared in the open kitchen.
Ilot Mangénie\ There’s a distinct Robinson Crusoe vibe, and superbly prepared seafood, at the beachfront lunchtime restaurant on Ilot Mangénie.

Blessed with an unbeatable beachfront setting on Frangipani islet, this casual eatery is open for breakfast (complimentary for those choosing a Frangipani Wing suite), lunch and dinner. On the menu, you’ll find Mediterranean dishes, barbecued specialities and herb-infused tequilas.
Sega Bar
This stylish bar is the place to head for pre or post-dinner cocktails, Mauritian rums and an evening of live music, or just to unwind after a day in the sun.
Republik Bar
Open from 11am to 10.30pm, this mellow beach bar has live music, DJs and sunken seating. Enjoy the last rays of the sun with a tailor-made cocktail and your toes in the sand.
At Kushi, you can savour exquisite Japanese food with a dash of added theatre if you choose one of the tables with a built-in yakiniku grill.

The rest of the treatment menu is just as intriguing, with everything from Mother and Daughter mani-pedis to the latest hi-tech aesthetic treatments.

Waste water is recycled and used to irrigate the gardens, wash the paths and other suitable tasks. There is an in-house bottling system, with part of the profits from water sales going to the community project fund. All of the dispensers in the bathrooms are both refillable and biodegradable. The resort organises activities, fundraising and maintenance works for two schools for disadvantaged local children.
Parents can rest easy with the signature T-Club which is open daily from 9am-10pm at no extra cost for their children to enjoy. Arts and crafts lessons have been designed to aid learning and development of children ages 4 to 11 years whilst active play sessions will appeal more towards teens aged between 12-17 years.
