Walt Disney World Holidays
There's nothing quite like a trip to Walt Disney World. From the moment you arrive, the outside world seems to disappear, as if by magic.
Set across nearly 50 square miles close to the city of Orlando, this vast wonderland comprises four theme parks, two water parks, and neighbourhoods to eat, drink, relax, and shop. It’s all connected by an efficient transport system of monorails, boats, gondolas, and buses, linking impressive masterpieces of whimsy and magic where no detail is overlooked.
Days start with rides through mesmerising lands, some exhilaratingly fast and others slow, immersive, and magical. Feast on Mickey-shaped ice cream and cinnamon-dusted churros as you walk from land to land, stopping to pose for photos with beloved Disney characters or enjoying a high-octane stunt show. You might have to queue (although bookable Lighting Lanes help), but the clever people at Walt Disney World have even found ways to make passing the time while you’re waiting more enjoyable. And when you’re ready for a respite from queues and sunshine, settle down to watch a show with Nemo or sing along with Elsa and Anna. Every day at Walt Disney World ends with spectacular laser and fireworks displays set to music.

Magic Kingdom
You’ll walk into the centrepiece of Walt Disney World to a soundtrack of music, greeted by flowers and Main Street USA and the smell of sweet, buttered popcorn. In the Magic Kingdom, you'll find famous Disney rides, major attractions like Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion, and newer additions like TRON Lightcycle / Run, one of the fastest coasters in any Disney theme park. Magic Kingdom is also great for little ones with whimsical rides like Peter Pan's Flight and Dumbo the Flying Elephant. The fireworks over the castle are quite a sight, too, and the parade that weaves its way around the park is an unmissable display of flawlessly choreographed Disney magic.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
In Disney's Hollywood Studios, the incredible Star Wars Galaxy's Edge is home to one of Disney's most technologically cutting-edge rides, Rise of the Resistance. Younger kids will love Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios. Slinky Dog Dash is a popular rollercoaster and the interactive Toy Story Mania! lets families get competitive on an interactive arcade-themed game. Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway is a more recent addition, and with zero height limit, it's a fun way for the whole family to experience one of Disney's best rides.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Dedicated to celebrating the natural world and its creatures, both real and imaginary, Animal Kingdom is where you can explore African savannahs, the Asian jungle, and prehistoric worlds. The Tree of Life stands tall in the centre of the park and features intricate carvings of hundreds of animals. Test your nerves on the thrilling Expedition Everest rollercoaster and the incredible Festival of the Lion King show. Animal Kingdom is also the place to experience the immersive Avatar rides, where you can fly on the back of a banshee and explore the bioluminescent forests of Pandora.
EPCOT
EPCOT has introduced new rides and experiences based on popular movies, from the excellent Frozen Ever After ride to Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. EPCOT is also a brilliant place to eat, where you can dine around the world at the World Showcase. This area, set around a lake, hosts a popular annual Food & Wine Festival, and more so than anywhere else across Walt Disney World Resort, you'll find groups of adults enjoying a holiday without children.
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon
This water park features water slides, a lazy river, and a huge wave pool. The park's theming is centred around a tropical storm, with wreckage and debris from the storm scattered throughout the park. You can easily spend a whole day here with plenty of places to relax and soak up the sun, places to eat and drink, and thrilling water rides.
Disney’s Blizzard Beach
Themed around a ski resort, complete with a mountain that houses some of the most thrilling water slides in the world. One of the most popular attractions is Summit Plummet, a 120-foot-tall free-fall slide that sends riders plunging at up to 60 miles per hour. Other must-try slides include the Toboggan Racers, an eight-lane racing slide, and the Slush Gusher, a high-speed coaster that takes riders on a rolling journey down the mountainside.
Disney Springs
An outdoor shopping and entertainment complex with luxury boutiques and famous brands, Disney Springs also has plenty of places to eat, from quick bites to sit-down restaurants. There are bars and lounges to finish an action-packed day with a sundowner, and you’ll find a jubilant atmosphere here, created by live music and street performances on warm Florida nights.
Disney’s BoardWalk
This charming waterfront promenade between EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios is inspired by the seaside boardwalks of the early 20th century. Stroll along the lakefront and enjoy a variety of street performers and live entertainment, or pop into Jellyrolls to cheer on the duelling pianos. Make reservations at Italian or seafood restaurants for a relaxing end to busy days.
