Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

Tropical treasure

You’ll arrive at Old Port Royale to check in, a lively yet laid-back hub of the resort, perfectly setting the scene for your beach-inspired holiday in the EPCOT area of Walt Disney World.

This easy-breezy hotel encapsulates island-style living with an unmistakable Disney theme. It’s a large resort with rooms split across five areas named after Caribbean islands. Conveniently, each area has its own swimming pool, but the large Fuentes de Morro pool, modelled on an old Spanish citadel, is where you’ll find water fountains, squirty cannons, and water slides. Disney classifies this resort as Moderate, its mid-level tier, so you can expect comfortable yet frills-free rooms with housekeeping every other day and mostly casual, counter-service restaurants.

Why we love Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

  • The Disney Skyliner, Walt Disney World’s gondola system, has a stop at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort to whisk you to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.

  • Rooms featuring a secret pulldown kids’ bed are ideal for families of five who all want to share a room.

  • There are laundry facilities throughout the resort, so you can pack a little lighter and refresh everyone’s wardrobes mid-week if you like.

  • You’ll get early theme park entry by staying in a Disney moderate resort, like this one, giving you access to the fun 30 minutes ahead everyone else.

The three restaurants lean on Caribbean and Latin flavours in the menus, but there are some USA favourites you’ll always find, such as burgers and pizzas. And this being Disney, kids’ menus are standard in every restaurant. Banana Cabana is a colourful bar with equally colourful cocktails on offer, and if you’re looking for a quick bite, there’s a bar menu here, too.

Every night of your stay, you'll receive credits for one quick-service meal, one table-service meal, one drink per meal, and one snack. There isn’t a fitness centre or spa, but you can follow a 0.6-mile jogging trail or have a game of volleyball on a sand court at the resort.

To reduce waste, Walt Disney World has stopped using single-use plastic straws and stirrers. It is also aiming to achieve zero waste to landfill by 2030. The organic waste produced at Walt Disney World is sent to an off-site composting facility to create nutrient-rich soil that can be used to nourish plants.

This is a fantastic family hotel with children firmly in mind with the configuration of the bedrooms, comfortably accommodating families of up to five. Children’s menus are available at every restaurant, and family activities include toasting marshmallows over a campfire on the beach, and Movies Under the Stars at 8pm every night.

Alongside six swimming pools, all of which are child-friendly, there’s a playground that features an interactive water play zone.

Families may find it helpful to know there are self-service laundry facilities available.
