Toronto Holidays
Metropolitan Toronto is the perfect place for your Canada holidays
Toronto is a colourful puzzle of global influences and free-spirited neighbourhoods, serving up glam, grit, high design and hip restaurants.
If a city were a cocktail, Toronto would be the one with the biggest mix. City lovers looking for plenty of cosmopolitan flavour will find that Canada’s largest city celebrates its multicultural roots with aplomb. You’ll hear it in the global languages spoken and see it in dynamic neighbourhoods including Little Italy, Little India, Chinatown and Greektown.
If you like that big city blend of grit and glam, this is a fantastic metropolis to explore. Warehouses have been converted into exhibition spaces, craft breweries come with a side of Canadian artisanal cheeses and museums and galleries house everything from Intuit art to Haida totem poles. You’ll find bohemian boutiques in Kensington Market and hip bars in the Victorian-era Distillery District. For designer shops and haute cuisine, head to Yorkville, and for Pan-Canadian cuisine you’re spoilt for choice with markets offering up everything from bagels to poutine. On the shores of Lake Ontario you can bike, barbecue and hike. Come evening, it’s worth searching out the city’s dark distilleries, slam poetry bars and glittering roof terraces. Watching over a skyscraper-filled skyline, Toronto’s CN Tower is the largest of them all. Head up over 1,400 feet and you get spectacular views from the observation SkyPod.
Kuoni offers handpicked inspiration with many Toronto holidays to choose from.

Central Toronto
Central Toronto is where you’ll find most of the city’s attractions. It includes downtown with its high-rise buildings, the CN Tower, the PATH shopping centre, Rogers Centre, Yonge Street, the harbourfront, Kensington market and Chinatown. The West End plays host to authentic dining venues in Little Italy/Portugal Village and High Park — Toronto's very own Central Park; while the East End comprises Greektown, Little India and the Beaches neighbourhood.
What to do in Toronto
Visit Toronto’s hill top castle, Casa Loma and see its majestic towers, staircase, tunnels and secret passages as you learn its history and that of its creator. Some of the best museums and galleries include the Art Gallery of Ontario, Royal Ontario Museum and Toronto Aerospace Museum. For nightlife, head to Adelaide in the aptly named Clubland district and Queen Street in the fashion district; then relax on the shores of Lake Ontario in Beaches, with a lakeside boardwalk and sand beach.
Shopping
Shopping is a must here, as Toronto boasts some of the biggest shopping malls in Canada. Take a walk through the PATH, the world’s largest underground shopping complex and shop till you drop!
Dining
Toronto's restaurants are as diverse as its population, with a number of coffee houses and pizzerias, and specialist foodie areas including Little India, Greektown, Chinatown, Little Italy/Portugal Village and Koreatown. There are some great value options for eating out
Getting around
Toronto is the only city in Canada that still uses street cars. These are a fun way to travel but do get stuck in traffic at peak times. Three subway lines and a rapid transit line are efficient and extend well into the suburbs, and there is also a bus network. The city centre is relatively compact and best explored on foot. Ferries and water taxis travel the ten minutes from Toronto Ferry Docks to the Toronto Islands. The Union Pearson Express links Downtown Toronto with the international airport. Trains depart every 15 minutes between 5:am and 1am and take just 25 minutes, making the transfer to or from the airport quick and easy.
