Recommended itinerary

Las Vegas

An epic start

You’ll need to break up the flight from London to Hawaii, and Vegas is a glamorous place for your first stopover. It kicks off your trip in unparalleled style and helps you acclimate to warmer climes and a bigger time difference.

What to do in Las Vegas

Tour the sights

Just walking through hotels in Las Vegas is an eye-popping experience, but when you’re ready for more, there are plenty of tours. Soar above The Strip in a helicopter or head out to witness the scale of the Grand Canyon.

Where to stay in Las Vegas

Stay somewhere fabulous

Choose a Las Vegas icon for your stay – perhaps the MGM Grand or the Cosmopolitan. Or maybe you’ll be tempted by the sleek and contemporary all-suite Vdara Hotel & Spa that sits between the ARIA Resort & Casino and the Bellagio. They’re all in prime locations on The Strip.

Oahu

Onwards to Hawaii

Leave Vegas behind and fly west to Hawaii. Most hotels are nearby in Waikiki, where you can stretch your legs along Kalakaua Avenue after a short transfer from Honolulu airport.

What to do in Oahu

A vibrant start

Oahu is a hub of activity with broad appeal, whether you want to get adventurous on the waves, tour cultural sites, or if Vegas has left you wanting more nightlife. Beyond Honolulu, you’ll find botanical gardens, sublime beaches, and the volcanic Diamond Head, where you can follow an easy hiking trail with terrific views.

Where to stay in Oahu

Oceanfront beach resorts

Choose between excellent beach resorts. Most are tall (so expect some fabulous ocean views) and offer plenty of pools, activities, and restaurants.

Maui

Calm and low-key

Hop over to a second Hawaiian island and experience life on Maui. You might be tempted to unwind on the beautiful beaches, but there are trails woven through national parks if you feel more active.

What to do in Maui

Visit Wailea

Wailea is a coastal town in South Maui known for its beautiful beaches, luxury resorts, and golf courses. Take a scenic stroll through the Wailea Coastal Walk, which offers views of the ocean and the islands, or hike through the lush tropical rainforest of the Haleakala National Park. Plenty of fine dining options are available for foodies, focusing on using local ingredients to create inventive dishes. We highly recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your time in Maui.

Where to stay in Maui

Resorts galore

Many of Maui’s larger resorts are perfect for families, with excellent facilities and things to do when you’re ready to stir from your lounger. If you want something quieter, look no further than the exceptional adults-only Hotel Wailea for a beautiful island stay.

Los Angeles

Let the fun continue

Fly eastwards, this time stopping in California. Los Angeles is a great stopover on your way back to the UK. Take it how you please – continue your beach break on the shores of Santa Monica, head to Hollywood for famous sights, or end your trip experiencing the thrills of Disneyland or Universal Studios.

Hollywood Hills

What to do in Los Angeles

So many possibilities…

Opt for a Go City LA All-Inclusive Pass to access many of Los Angeles’ favourite locations and attractions. Or take things at your own pace – maybe you’ll still be in beach mode from your time in Hawaii and want to extend your time relaxing on the beach or by a glamorous LA swimming pool?

Griffith Observatory

Where to stay in Los Angeles

Hollywood and beyond

Choose a hotel in Hollywood for a starry-eyed stay, or choose somewhere beachy like the luxurious Shutters on the Beach or the gleaming Shore Hotel. Staying in the Anaheim neighbourhood puts you in the perfect location to access Disneyland.
