The Phoenicia Malta

A stylish national treasure

Ideal for couples, this luxurious landmark hotel is the perfect gateway to the capital city of Valletta.

Newly refurbished, The Phoenicia Malta is one of the country’s finest hotels. It’s the oldest luxury hotel in Malta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a Valletta icon just outside the city gate. A favourite with honeymooners for its sumptuous interiors, the hotel has recently been beautifully restored with modern touches that complement the elegance and nostalgia of this local landmark.

Why we love The Phoenicia Malta

  • This romantic landmark hotel is looking better than ever thanks to a sensitive designer makeover that’s added a dash of colour

  • There are breathtaking views of anything from Valletta harbour and the city’s bastions from the pool and restaurant terraces

  • You can nibble your way through a range of afternoon teas in an elegant lounge or sip an inspired cocktail in a moody bar

  • The sleek modern spa, opened in late 2020, has a thoroughly modern approach to wellness that you won’t want to miss

With an iconic bar, superb views from its two restaurants’ terraces and a Maltese outpost of an international steakhouse name, eating at the Phoenicia is a delight.

Contessa Restaurant
The elegant main restaurant is open for buffet breakfast, then again from lunchtime until dinner (both à la carte). The menu of classic international dishes is complemented by the setting, especially the expansive terrace overlooking the gardens and Marsamxett Harbour.

Bastion Pool Bar & Restaurant
Dine al fresco on light summery dishes – or just sip a cocktail – next to the infinity pool, from where there are magnificent harbour views.

Palm Court Lounge
This relaxing spot is the hotel's heart where you can sink into a sofa with a cup of coffee or one of the afternoon tea options.

Beefbar in the City
This new arrival at the Phoenicia is one of the latest openings from the global steakhouse brand Beefbar, known for its stylish street and comfort food.

Club Bar
A popular hangout since 1952, this cosy bar is the place to come for signature cocktails such as the wonderfully named Billie Holiday on the Radio.

The intimate bar has a long history, retro décor, moody lighting and incredible house cocktails.
